Volunteerism & Philanthropy
"I believe life is more than working hard every day and providing for your family. Life is also about giving back to the communities you live and work in. Making the world a better place for your children and generations yet to come is a life well-lived. Whether a kind word to a stranger, an hour volunteered, a dollar donated or a warm smile for no apparent reason, we all can make a positive difference in our communities, our country and this world with the resources we have."
– Ricardo Becerril President Compass Project Solutions
Jason Brandt
Executive Director,
Salem Area Chamber of Commerce
It takes a true leader to find time in today's busy world to engage in important policy discussions, mentor in the lives of high school students, and learn about how we can engage further as citizens within our community. Ricardo has done all of these things as an active contributor and volunteer leader within the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce. He is committed to our community and our youth and has a passion to serve.
Mike McLaran
Former Executive Director,
Salem Area Chamber of Commerce
I am very happy to recommend Ricardo Becerril as someone who is a proven leader. I chose Ricardo to serve in advisory capacity to both the Chamber and the School District because of his strong bridge-building capabilities. Ricardo's ability to address complex and sensitive issues with professionalism and respect has ensured that communication on issues is effective and results oriented. It is a pleasure serving with Ricardo and I would gladly seek to have Ricardo Becerril on any team that is in pursuit of excellence and quality outcomes.
Julie Cleave
Teacher, Hallman Elementary School
It's almost unbelievable when I recount the number of projects Ricardo has assisted Hallman Elementary with. Gestures to organize and staff projects such as the donation of backpacks and school supplies as well as the professionally constructed soccer field to replace the mud puddle and patches of weeds and lastly the support he gave Hallman Girls Running Club, with team shirts and race entry fees for community mentors and 25 of our low income students. Ricardo has continued to amaze the faculty at Hallman with his generosity; He does this without reward or caveat. I can honestly say that Ricardo has enriched the lives of our students.
Manuel Palacio
Principal, Valley Inquiry Charter School
Thank you for your generous gift to manage and organize the team that pulled together a very much needed gravel road at Valley Inquiry Charter School. Your outstanding support provided a safe and secure environment for our students and their parents and keep them off of the highway where traffic flows at 50 mph. Everyone I talk to appreciates your efforts to pull together three great companies to help our school. Job well done. Thank you.
Ron Speck
Former Director of Elementary Education,
Salem-Keizer Public Schools
Your dedication and involvement in our schools and community is impressive. You really get the big picture and know that the future of Salem lies with those who are currently in our schools. With respect and admiration for the work that you do.
